A transformative new vision for the way we lead, love, work, parent, and educate that teaches us the power of vulnerability.

...Why I love this book... Another omen.

I was directing a show in early 2016. At our first production meeting the new set designer asked me if I had recently read Daring Greatly. "No." I said.

I talk a lot about Vulnerability and Shame even in a production meeting. Our set designer was convinced I knew Brene Brown or at least watched her Ted Talk.

At our second meeting he gave me his copy of Daring Greatly to read. That night I went home and couldn't put it down. Of course I did put it down and the next day off to the book store I went to buy my own copy. I also swung by Officeworks to get HIGHLIGHTERS and post its!

I've read it 5 times.

Firstly, I loved the title!! Daring Greatly, bring it on.

Brene Brown has researched and studied Vulnerability and Shame. She has collected Data on it. I still get excited saying this out loud. THIS IS HER JOB.

I don't know Brene Brown personally but I see her as one of my Creative Mentors of all time. Reading Daring Greatly for the first time was such a pivotal moment in my life. It gave me a sense of belonging. It has impacted the way I teach, perform and direct. It inspires me to be the best mother, wife, daughter, friend I can be. It is by my bed. My Shame and Vulnerability bible.

...and I never saw the set designer again.

The alchemist, paulo coelho

One of the best-selling books in history. The story of Santiago, the shepherd boy on a journey to realise his “Personal Legend” has inspired people all over the world to live their dreams.

...The first time I read The Alchemist was 25 years ago... A beautiful compelling fairy tale about a shepherd and his journey through life. I re-read it a month ago and I just want to read it again and again. The simplicity through out Santiago's story is magical and full of wisdom.

I was inspired to stay on the path of my quest. I was excited by seeing everything I do, as an adventure. To call myself an Adventurer.

It reminded me to pay attention to my life, look for the omens and trust I have the answers within. My enthusiasm will always guide me.

The Element, Ken robinson

The Element is the point at which natural talent meets personal passion. When people arrive at the Element, they feel most themselves and most inspired and achieve at their highest levels.

...This book came to me in a book bundle from my dear friend Paulo in Los Angelos. It reminded me that as a young child I was so confident in my own imagination.

"One of the strongest signs of being in the zone is a sense of freedom and of authenticity. When we are doing something that we love and are naturally good at, we are much more likely to feel centered in our true sense of self- to be who we feel we truly are."- Ken Robinson

...his ted talk is brilliant and worth a watch.
